Evenly dispense QuietGlue Pro with a caulking gun to one side of the drywall panel, and screw the drywall panel with applied side facing inward onto the existing wall.

What is QuietGlue Pro and how does it work?

QuietGlue Pro is an acoustical compound that dissipates sound waves when it’s installed between layers drywall on ceilings and walls, even plywood on floors. It’s a very cost-effective option for do-it-yourself soundproofing projects in homes and offices and one of the best products on the market.

One layer of QuietGlue Pro within a standard drywall assembly can add 10-14 STC points to a the final soundproofing project, and provide 10 dB transmission lost to low-frequency sounds that are not covered by the STC rating. The compound can be applied to all types of drywall panels and plywood, and it is a safe, water-based compound with very low VOC level. Green Glue is similar to QuietGlue and works in the same way.

QuietGlue Pro is recommended for DIY projects, or in projects where the installation labour cost is free or very low.

If the installation is being performed by professionals, QuietRock soundproofing drywall panels are pre-manufactured with acoustical compounds in the drywall, and are faster and easier to install than multiple layers of QuietGlue and drywall.
